For stores using Square POS, the Square API is being changed and your store will need to be reconnected in order to keep inventory sync working.

Square is going to disable the APIs by November 18, 2020. If your Square account is not reconnected, the inventory synchronization between your online store and Square will be disrupted and the product stock levels won't be automatically updated anymore.

New versions of APIs require additional permissions, so you have to reconnect your Square account and grant the necessary permissions. Thereafter your account will be ready to use the new APIs and the inventory synchronization won't be disrupted.

Reconnect your Account

To reconnect your Square account:

  1. In the side panel, click Sell Online, and then click Manage Store.

  2. Click Other Channels, and then click Square.

  3. Click Reconnect with Square. You will be redirected to Square.

  4. Login to your Square account and grant the requested permissions. You will be redirected back to the Store Control Panel.

After that, your online store will be ready for the smooth automatic upgrade of Square APIs and the inventory synchronization will keep working.

The reconnect won't change any settings or data. However, we recommend checking if the sync of the product stock works properly.

Troubleshooting

What happens if the account is not reconnected?

On November 18, 2020 the inventory synchronization between Square POS system and your online store will stop working if you do not reconnect your Square account.

Note

To keep the inventory synchronization with Square POS working normally you must reconnect your Square account by following the steps above.
